MUSEUM CLOSED

It is with great regret that the Trustees have decided that Chapel Bay Fort & Museum will not be opening this season.

With many of our volunteers at increased risk due to age and/or health issues, it is inadvisable for them to be exposed to the general public in front of house activities.  Our display spaces have numerous “pinch points”  that are difficult to negotiate under the current guidelines.

Consequently we do not have enough staff to operate the site in a welcoming, enjoyable, and above all, safe manner.

During this closure, we continue with the improvements we had planned, and additional renovation and development of the site and displays, and we look forward to welcoming you in 2021.
