Getting Here

From Pembroke, follow signs for Angle (B4320). When you reach Angle turn left through the village, heading towards West Angle Bay. Just after leaving the village, turn right up the lane by the sign for Chapel Bay Fort & Museum. The museum car park is clearly signed at the top of the hill.

Please note that if using satnav, the postcode will take you past the lane to the Fort and on to the car park at West Angle Bay.

Disabled Parking

There is specified disabled parking by the main entrance for those with very limited mobility, giving level access to the Fort. The main car park is 40m from the main entrance and has step free access to the main entrance.

Chapel Bay Fort is on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path on the North Hill at Angle.

Angle is served by the 387/388 Coastal Cruiser bus service. The bus stops at the bus stop in the village. From there walk west, towards West Angle Bay, and you will see the lane to the Fort on your right just after the last houses in the village. Chapel Bay Fort and Museum is at the top of the hill. For local bus information and timetables, visit Pembrokeshire County Council Bus Routes – Coastal Buses.

Food Hygiene Rating of 5 - very good

The Cookhouse offers a range of light meals, sandwiches, cakes and drinks throughout the day. It is a pleasant place to meet friends or take a break during your visit. Entry is free and open to all during museum opening hours. View our menu.

A selection of souvenirs are available from The Cookhouse.

Chapel Bay Fort was designed with ramped access throughout, originally for the movement of heavy ammunition into the magazines. Please note that some of the ramps have an uneven surface. We have only one flight of steps (14 steps) in the public areas, and a single step to access the museum casemates. The flight of steps has a sturdy handrail on one side and a plain wall on the other. Alternative ramped access is available.

The doorways inside the museum are 33.8″ (86cm) wide, and not suitable for mobility scooters. Mobility scooters may be used on the guided tour, but access to the Machine Gun Shed and Artillery Shed is limited.

Assistance Dogs

Guide dogs, hearing dogs and other recognised assistance dogs are welcome in all Museum buildings and on site. Dogs are welcome in the outside seating area of The Cookhouse where water is available, and on the guided tour of the outside areas.

Disabled Parking
